About Me

My name is Kristin King, PT, DPT, CMTPT, CPT

Let me start by telling you why I decided to start this business.

By the age of 16, I was determined to pursue a career in physical therapy. I was a Division 1 athlete in college and enjoyed running the 400 on my track team. My coach was competitive and constantly told me I was too overweight to be a sprinter, but did not offer any resources to help me lose weight in a healthy way. Desperate to lose weight fast, I developed an eating disorder and soon was no longer running because of an injury in my foot, which I believe now, was tied to my poor nutrition. My grades were also suffering because I was so exhausted from running and not eating, that I couldn't stay awake in class. I quit the track team and I had a wonderful academic counselor that worked with me one on one to get my grades up and get me into PT school.

After 10 years as a therapist, I realized I was helping people, but not in the way I wanted to help them. I saw how busy it was in a regular out patient clinic and I never had enough time to spend one on one with my patients. I decided to go part time and focus on starting a family.

When I gave birth to my second son he was in the nicu for 10 days. I struggled with pelvic, shoulder, neck, and low back pain, swelling, and heart rate fluctuations. The worst part was, my husband went back to work because we could not afford for him to take off more than 10 days, and my mom and mother in law went on vacation because they had been non-stop watching our other son while we were in the nicu, and they were tired. I found myself alone with a nicu baby and a 21 month old with nothing that would prepare me for how hard it would be.

I tried to figure out how to get therapy for the aches and pains in my body after giving birth, but there was no one to help me unless I could get out of my house and go to them. Most of you know, with limited childcare, this was impossible to do on a regular basis. I decided to suck it up, and treat myself. This helped temporarily, but after 10 months, I weaned my son, I tried to get help at a physical therapy clinic on my lunch breaks on the days I was at work.

I spent over $3,000 going to a couple different therapists through my insurance, but it did not really help, since they were so busy they could barely touch me for more than 15 min at a time. Disappointed in my profession and very discouraged I searched for answers. There had to be another way. I found a one on one manual therapist and we worked together to get my pain under control. I decided that I wanted to help other moms during that journey because I realized there is not much support out there and I wanted to be a light in the darkness, because you are worth it and I have the skills to help you. I didn't have that, and I don't want any other moms to feel like I did in those moments alone when both those kids were crying and I was in pain.

I came across this group of therapists that were starting this movement for CashPT. They showed me that one-on-one care was possible and in order to change the current healthcare model, I needed to break the mold and give better care on my own.

I started studying nutrition, health and wellness, and personal training and decided to get my certifications in these areas so I could help people more holistically.

I decided to start my own mobile wellness and training business to help mom's without support and busy active people who are in pain or need help getting stronger but don't have time to get to a gym and don't want to work with someone who doesn't know what to do if their client gets an injury.

My pledge to you is to give personalized attention to your individual plan, to guide you in your healing, life style changes and healthy living, listen to your needs so I can take care of you, encourage you, and impower you to get you back to taking care of what's most important to you and your family.

Client Stories

“I was a mess my sophomore year while trying to figure out why I was having pain in my hips a year after I had stopped strenuous activity and catching in softball. I went to work with Kristin. We tried different exercises, before she came to the conclusion that I had a bilateral hip labrum tears. After this Kristin set me up with the best doctor I’ve ever seen and I started my progression with my new lifestyle. She made sure I had everything I needed throughout the entire process and never let me doubt myself for a minute. I always knew I had someone who would listen and do whatever they needed to help me. I’m grateful for meeting Kristin and helping me throughout my surgery because without her I don’t think I would be as well off as I am now.”
